Bert Aagesen
I grew up in Sweden. Worked a year in Germany, where I fell in love with sailplanes.
Went back home to Eskilstuna, Sweden where we have a Soaring Club that celebrated its 50
year anniversary 1988. There I learned to fly gliders in 1970. In 1973 and 1974 the
Swedish Airforce taught me how to fly airplanes and the Swedish Army taught me how to fly
helicopters. I also found time to train at the "North American Institute of
Aviation" then located in Hammonton N.J. where I received the Commercial Pilot
Certificate with ASMEL and H as well as the Instrument Rating plus CFI. Came to
Omaha in April of 1975, just in time to experience the Tornado, for my first job. Worked
almost exclusively out of Millard Airport as a flight instructor, charter pilot and
corporate pilot (Richman Gordman Stores, Werner Enterprises to name only two) and ended up
carrying such titles as Chief Flight Instructor, Chief Pilot and Designated Examiner.
These plus a dollar could get me a cup of coffee almost anywhere.....Since 1990
employed by United Airlines, where I have only flown two airplanes; the 727 and the 777,
both Boeing. |
